Beauty info:Special about Halloycite Clay compared to Kaolin

Kaolin is a common ingredient in cosmetic products, for an instance, almost all deep cleansing mask using kaolin as extracting medium to draw out dirt & impurities to achieve purification and detox purposes.

When you observe kaolin via microscope, you could found out kaolin has a crystal system with triclinic structure shown below.

However, halloysite clay naturally occurs as small cylinders which average 30 nm in diameter with lengths between 0.5 and 10 micrometres. With this unique structure, halloycite clay could act as an absorbent to extract dirt efficiently than kaolin do. It also explains why Living Nature deep cleansing mask could perform better than other brands in the market.

This mask is formulated with purifying Halloysite clay and antimicrobial Manuka essential oil and honey extract oils, dirt, and impurities. After using this mask, it leaves skin clear and balanced, and pores refined. For oily to normal skin, particularly acne prone. Eye Bag Removal:Cosmetic Surgery

In modern era people emphasize on youthful life, but eye bags are the nightmares that create the old exhausted look. Eye bag removal surgery (blepharoplasty) increases rapidly for the past 10 years. It is currently the most popular surgery of all among orthopedic surgery.

Blepharoplasty
is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures to remove fat, usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. This surgery can lift drooping upper lids and reduce puffy eye bags that form below your eyes. This procedure can be done alone or in conjunction with other plastic facial surgery procedures such as a facelift.

There are 2 types of surgery method:

  • Fat excision in the membrane for eye bags due to fatty tissue protrusion
  • Cutting off skin underneath the eyelashes and muscle suspension surgery for eye bags caused by sagging of eyelids and muscles
Fat-preservation technique is the latest technique in removing eye bags and preserving age at the same time. This technique instead of removing fat, releases the eyebag from within, spreading out the existing fat to share with the adjacent depressed area. This effect ensures a more even, rejuvenated look of the lower eyes with presence of baby fat. It is long lasting as it maintains the functional anatomy of the lower eyelid. It also saves the patient from having a fat injection of the lower eyelid for rejuvenation in the future.

With lower eyebag surgery (lower blepharoplasties), the excess fat of the lower eyebag can be removed from an incision within the eyelid (tranconjunctival), or removed through an incision under the eyelash particularly when removal of excessive skin is desirable.

Cosmetic eye surgery on lower eye bags involves a cut just below and to the side of the lower eyelid. During lower eye bag removal, fat is removed and excess skin is trimmed to conform to the new contour. Any swelling or discolouration that appears due to cosmetic eye surgery should fade 2 to 3 weeks after your operation, and dryness or itchiness of the eyes should also clear in a few weeks.Any pull at the lid at the corner of the eye following a cosmetic eye surgery procedure will correct itself within 2 to 5 weeks.

Upper eye bag removal is a type of cosmetic eye surgery that removes unsightly fatty folds from the upper eye lid. This fold can sometimes fall across the eye and interfere with normal vision and the resulting scar in the upper eye lid crease is extremely fine.

The biggest risk with both upper and lower blepharoplasty operations is that of blindness. It is a relatively rare risk, but very important. If there is any bleeding behind the eye, it can cause more pain and, eventually, can compress the optic nerve in that eye, causing permanent blindness. Luckily this is rare, but still very important.

Other risks include poor positioning of the eyelid after surgery, where the eye is unable to close fully. This is usually a result of trying to remove too much tissue or pulling the eyelid too tight. It can be secondary to swelling after the operation, and if so gets better as this resolves.

Product Comment: Living Nature Radiance Night Oil

I'd used it a few bottles these few years, each bottle can last for at least 9 months although it is just 10ml, each application requires just 1 or 2 drops will do for whole face! A perfect facial oil blend with rejuvenating precious damask rose essential oil, cell renewing rosehip oils plus soothing calendula, repairing & scar healing frankincense, carrot and jojoba oil.

Living Nature radiance night oil assists skin’s natural regeneration process while you sleep, since it contains high amount of rosehip oil, it is advisable to apply it during evening time. I treat it as oil-based serum and apply it prior to moisturizer on eye and cheek area to sooth lines, you could also simply mix it with your favourite moisturizer and body lotion too.

The most awarding moment is the next day you will find your skin as radiance as glowy pearl and fine complexion without any large pores upon wake up. It is suitable for all skin types, especially normal to dry and mature, even though combination skin who sleep in fan room also found that it is non-greasy formulation and won't appear oily at the next morning. You will also find it has scar lightening effect after a few months, as well as pigments and freckles, I simply think that it is similar with Aesop's one but Living Nature contributes better texture and effects than Aesop does.

Skincare Myth:Men should stick on men range?

"Ya, sir, you should use men range, this product is more suitable for ladies, rather than men." from counter girls.

I do have some male friends love aroma of men range skincare, simply think that it is irresistible and charming when they use it. Men range is gaining more attention, cosmetic industry would glad to grab more money from male too. Today, men have more brands to consider. However, are you smart enough to buy which 1 is best for your skin?

Well, unless certain anti-aging range which MAY contain hormone that regulate and cause imbalance in your body after long term application. Anyway, cosmetics are not allowed to have any hormone, it is quite safe to use big brands. Or skincare products with rose, let's say trilogy toning rose floral water/hydrosol, Aesop Damascan rose Facial Treatment, it is hydrating and give radiance to both men and women, but won't regulate hormone to keep young as women do. Otherwise, just choose skincare range according to your concerns and requirements.

Most men range are formulated refreshing, light, non-greasy texture with oil controlling and pore minimizing purposes, if you are always staying in air-conditioning environment or have dry/sensitive skin, you better look beyond men range and should consider hydrating or mild soothing range instead. Improper care will only make your skin condition worse.

Common men's skin are oily, rough and tend to have "thicker" skin than women. Many men find that shaving goes more smoothly when using a glycerin or aloe-based shaving cream or gel. Not only will these types of products soothe your skin, but they will allow your razor to glide across your face. For best results massage the cream or gel into your beard. And, of course, always shave with the grain first then, if necessary, you can shave against it. Finish with a soothing aftershave balm or your daily moisturizer.

Note: stay away from alcohol- based aftershaves; they will only irritate your skin.

Beauty info: Causes of Puffy eye bag

There are two types of eye bags: fluid retention & fatty orbital herniation

Fluid retention is the condition when fluids are trapped in the tissues located under the eyes. Eyes' puffiest moments are upon wake up. This happens because the fluids have settled in the eye area while you were sleeping.

Causes:
- Allergies lead to water retention under the eyes.- Cry a lot since the salt in tears irritates the skin
- If you are dehydrated or drunk, it will show in your eyes- Hormonal changes during menstruation
- Too much amount of water or liquid or have eaten salty foods before going to bed. The swelling around the eyes usually diminishes after a few hours when the fluids have been re-absorbed by the body.

Fatty orbital herniation, caused by the fat herniates or protrudes from the eye socket and creates eye bag or puffy eye. To herniate means to project through an abnormal opening, like the bulge produced by a hernia on the lower abdomen. Eye bags or puffy eyes are a hernia of the eyelid. It is caused by loss of elasticity of the skin and muscle of the eyelid. This allows the fat, which normally lies beneath the eyeball supporting it, to push outward form fat pads on saggy eye. There are also textural skin changes in the eyelid that make the skin look old.

Causes:
- Aging is a factor. While we age, our skin also ages. Through the years, the skin located around the eyes becomes thinner. The skin loses its elasticity therefore causing the underlying fat around the eyes bulges out resulting to what we call eye bags.

If the swelling around the eyes is similar to round pouches rather than just simple puffiness, consult your physician immediately as it might be a sign of underlying disease, usually connected to a thyroid condition commonly known as Grave's disease. It can also be related to kidney issues.

Fine Line Rescuer: Home remedies Approach

Some little tricks that you could maintain as a habit to keep your fine lines away.

1) Cool water as rinsing water
Cool water, within 18-21 degree Celsius, can prevent swelling of blood capillaries, reduce blood flow, minimize pore and firming. Thus, your skin will look pale and whiten.

2) Stay with fan rather than air-condition
Air conditioning room no doubt cause dehydration on our skin, and form dry lines to promote our skin age faster. Stay at air condition room up to 4-5 hours considered moderate serious and efficient enough to cause dryness. Office ladies, retailing workers who always stayed at air conditioning indoors will face dehydration, remember to focus personal cares (skin cares and body cares) with proper hydrating and moisturizing purposes to restore back moisture loss.

3) Proper sleeping position
Avoid lateral sleeping positions like Log, Yearner, Freefaller and Thinker. These positions will suppress your face to pillow and cause skin folding and form fine lines. Else you use silk pillow to prevent this. Or change your sleeping position to Soldier or Starfish.

Diet & Nutrition
1) Essential fatty acid (EFA)
Essential fatty acid could provide the building blocks of healthy skin, playing a significant role in the structure of every cell and cell function.
Udo's oil, flax oil, olive oil, fish oil, herp seal oil

2) antioxidants
assist in skin repair and the strengthening of blood vessels, enhances skin's natural process of collagen synthesis, providing amazing free-radical protection.
Vitamin C, resveratrol & OPC (grapes)

3) proteins & amino acids
contribute to your beauty in terms of fitness and moist skin, involved in collagen production for skin elasticity and texture.
amino acids supplements, collagen, yogurt/kefir

Beauty Food:Flax oil Cottage Cheese Diet

Flax oil cottage cheese diet is the essential discovery of Dr Johanna Budwig (a German biochemistry pioneer with seven-times Nobel Prize nominee) for cancer patients. Wait, don't just focus on how this diet help in cancers, in my blog, i link everything related to beauty and good skin, including Budwig's diet. Let me introduce how this beauty food could help aging, dry skin with wrinkles as well as other skin disorders such as eczema skin, rosacea or acne. Of course, anyone who require smooth skin appearance are encouraged to follow this diet too.

Flaxseed oil (or flax oil) not only reduces inflammation in body including skin, lowers cholesterol, but also improve cell renewal. Science has proven that fats play an important role in the functioning of the entire body, and are vital for all growth processing, brain and nerve functions. Our energy resources are based on lipid metabolism. To function efficiently, cells require true polyunsaturated, live electron-rich lipids, present in abundance in raw flaxseed oil.

Flax oil could be definitely consumed alone, but it is even better if you blend it with cottage cheese. Flax oil is only water-soluble and free-flowing when bound to protein; thus the importance of protein-rich cottage cheese. When high quality, electron-rich flax oil are combined with proteins to form water soluble, easily to be absorbed lipoproteins, the electrons are protected until the body requires energy. This energy source is then fully and immediately available to the body on demand, as nature intended.

After my explanation, i guess you are eager to know how to prepare flax oil cottage cheese diet. For the most benefit, serve this as your breakfast and prepare only enough for one meal and consume immediately. Use organic foods if possible.

Purchase an organic, cold press, unadulterated flax oil, preferably Barlean's, whynot? brand. High lignan version flax oil is not recommended, normal one can work efficiently on human body. You have to chill them in refrigerator all the time to maintain freshness. Blend 3 tablespoons of flaxseed oil with 6 tablespoons of low-fat cottage cheese/yogurt with a hand-held immersion electric mixer for 30 to 60 seconds. Bonding the oil & cheese is important in order for it to be assimilated into the body fully. The mixture should be like rich whipped cream with no separated oil.

Next, you can choose stir the mixture with milk, freshly ground flaxseed, fruits (phytonutrient-rich berry, apple, peach, banana), nuts (walnut, almond or brazil nuts are recommended, no peanut), honey and raisin. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder, dark cocoa powder or vanilla according to your preference. Now, it's time to serve it. Trust me, it's yummy and delicious. philosophy

Fine Line Rescuer:Cosmetology Approach

There is variety of cosmetic treatments to lighten fine lines depends on different mechanisms, how serious they are. Each of them has its own pro and con, choose it based on circumstances and suitability of individual. Once again, i emphasize that if you choose any in-depth cosmetic surgical/nonsurgical treatment, always get consultation from a doctor or dermatologist.

IPL (Intense Pulse Light)
IPL uses sophisticate technology (xenon flash lamp and optical prisms or filters) to instantly vaporize damaged cells placed deeper in the skin without harming the surrounding tissue or the top skin in order to dissolve and destroy the unwanted skin cells, and promote the growth of new skin cells in the targeted area. Diminishing fine lines by "filling" the skin from the inside out with new skin cells, after the old "zapped" cells have been destroyed and replaced, also requires multiple sessions, which vary in length and quantity. However, the final results of IPL can last one to two years. The side effects of IPL are very limited. On occasion some slight swelling and redness may occur. It's recommended that patients undergoing IPL therapy, avoid direct sunlight for 30 days before and after their treatment.

Laser Skin Tightening
Laser skin tightening is non-invasive procedure that helps tighten and contour your skin in a single treatment. Instead, it stimulates skin's natural renewal of collagen, which creates subtle, natural looking results on and off the face. It could last for 2 years and above.

Hyaluronic acid injection
Hyaluronic acid injections can be used as a dermal filler to improve the skin's contour and reduce depressions in the skin due to scars, injury or lines. Injection method used depends on the doctor but will be either the serial intradermal puncture technique (series of small injections with a very fine needle) or tunnel or threading technique (needle is withdrawn as the hyaluronic acid is injected). Hyaluronic acid implantation is not permanent. Like natural hyaluronic acid, manufactured hyaluronic acid once injected into the skin will gradually break down and be absorbed by the body. In most cases, the augmentation usually lasts anywhere 10 months. To maintain the initial results, repeat treatments or top-up treatments will be necessary.

Botox Injection
This treatment is suitable when fine lines become wrinkles and it could last for 6 months. Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines, but not work for wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity.
The procedure takes only a few minutes and no anesthesia is required. Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes three to seven days to take full effect and it is best to avoid alcohol at least one week prior to treatment. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped two weeks before treatment as well in order to reduce bruising. Botox could last for 3 to 6 months, some even could last for 8 months.
Ionosonic Transdermal Delivery Intensive Treatment
A skin beautification system comprising an iontophoresis device, an infrared (including far infrared) generator, an ultrasonic vibrator, and a cosmetic composition is disclosed. The system ensures effective action of moisturizing and whitening cosmetics by enhancing penetration of specific cosmetic components. By specifying the type of cosmetic to be used, the system can improve dry skin and aging skin, and also can decompose and remove melanin. Moisturizing and/or whitening cosmetic components such as L-ascorbic acid, peptides, epidermal growth factor are applied to the face or skin or impregnated in a skin contact member section, following which iontophoresis high frequency vibration is applied to the skin for a period of time using an ultrasonic vibrator.

Skincare Myth: Face serum Apply on eye area

“Ya, you should buy this eye cream and face serum, use them separately for eye area and face. Face serum cannot apply on eye area."

That's what counter girls or beauty advisors often persuade us to buy when we questioned about whether face serum could apply on both face and eye area. Of course, BA would hope you buy both items, if can whole set even best, usually they will point you to apply face serum on face, and persuade you buy another eye cream.

You don't need to waste such money to buy similar thing unless the eye cream is targeted for certain functions. Let's say eye puffiness, wrinkles or dark eye circles.

Face serum can hydrate, sooth fine lines, likes what eye cream does the same. You can save your budget just to buy a good quality face serum and skip common hydrating eye cream. There is no way for you to spend more to get the same effects, you could invest the money to some other skin care products.

Today you learn a new info. Just keep it & treasure it.

Skincare Myth:Store skincare in Fridge

Some may ask, is it alright to store skin cares in refrigerator/chiller? Will quality improve when we keep them in lower temperature? Well, i store essences, masks and toners in a mini chiller.

Yes, i admit that certain skin cares are advisable to store in refrigerator, but not all items. You could store toner, serum, masks (gel/cream based or paper mask), it is not only contribute cooling & refreshing sensation to your skin upon application, but also will slightly minimize pores. The purpose of storing skin cares in low temperature will also help to extend shelf life of skin cares. Bacteria grow in lower rate below 10 degree Celsius, lipid oxidation rate of cream/oil will be affected by low temperature as well. As long as you take out of fridge, and put them back immediately after usage, you don't have to worry about temperature shock will affect the quality of products.

There is no such statements claimed that store products in refrigerator will let free radicals produced by fridge cause degradation of skin cares and thus affect the quality of them. Everybody use fluorine free refrigerator in this modern era, unless you are still using old fashioned refrigerator containing fluorine, then it may be a risk of a free radicals polluted your skin cares, and your food!

However, not all skin cares items are suitable to be kept in fridge. Cleansing gel is not suitable, because low temperature will affect its foamibility when you lather them, it tends to produce less foam, unless you mix them with warm water. In addition, clay mask easy to harden at lower temperature; face cream/moisturizers are not advisable to keep in refrigerator for it will affect penetration to epidermic skin upon application, unless you rub them or cover with palm to warm it prior to putting them on your skin.

I know you already know what to do next.

Skincare Myth:Whitening Skincare in Full range

"Yes, you should buy whole set instead of one or two bottles for maximum result. Whitening require complete care from A to Z." from counter girls or beauty advisors.

Not necessary, i can say. The main concern is whitening ingredients and concentration upon purchase. Cleanser & toner could be an optional, due to their limited concentrations. Plus, cleanser only stay on skin for 1,2 minutes, there is no time for whitening ingredients to penetrate skin as quickly as you imagine. Unless the whitening cleanser formulated by foaming agents suitable for your skin, then you could consider it. If your budget is limited, just go for serum/essence for it is often highest in concentration among the whole range.

Of course, you have to concern about skin conditions and whitening effect, if acne prone skin or oily skin wish to whiten their skin, just apply whitening essence in their daily skincare regimen. If dry, mature skin or pigmented, perhaps, besides whitening essence, nourishing face moisturizer is perfect to enhance the whitening effectiveness.

Tips: if you want to improve the whitening effect, you could apply skincare with fruit acids content. Fruit acids not only exfoliate dead skin cell, but also enhance penetration of whitening compounds, breakdown melanin to lighten skin significantly. However, fruit acid concentration, frequency of treatment is based on your skin types, dry skin which have lower water content of skin cells could be more frequent for their skin produce more dead skin cell than oily skin. Last but not least, don't forget about proper sun protection to reduce the melanin formation.

Skincare Myth:Young vs Anti-aging skincares

"Don't use anti-aging skincares when you are still young, it is not suitable for youth skin because if you start using them in early 20's age, your skin will immune against anti-aging skincares and you will find no effect on any anti-aging skincares during middle age".

Sound familiar, huh? I bet you should hear it from somewhere. Today science & technology give promising effects to keep us look youth and radiant, 10 years younger than exact age is no longer a dream/myth. If you start using anti-aging skincares, you don't need to worry about after 10,20 years, no more anti-aging skincares you can use. As i said, beauty industry is trillion dollar industry, more products with emerging latest technology are approaching us, the problem you have is too much choices to be chosen.

Undoubtedly, most anti-aging skincares are oil based, especially moisturizer, which give burden to oily skin and combination skin that more sebum secretion than normal/dry skin. However, if you are exposed under high risk of aging factors, no matter intrinsic or extrinsic factors, it is advisable you start to introduce anti-aging skincares in your daily skincare regimen as early as 19 (or not late than 25 years old). Just have a kick start by using serum prior to light-weight moisturizer as first step.

Just give you some hints, latest anti-aging technology always predominated in USA and Europe, they are pioneered in anti-aging technology, perhaps Caucasians are always easier to age compare with Asians. You could consider skincares brands originated from both US and Europe.

Fine Line Rescuer:Eye care Approach

It is never too late to sooth fine lines. As long as fine lines still have not damaged further become wrinkles, there is hope in a jar to sooth fine lines. Even if it is dry line, the task is much more easier. Among eye cares available in market, there is key ingredients based on different mechanisms to treat fine lines: stimulate collagen production, anti-glycation, antioxidant, biotechnology compounds to repair damaged cell. Based on condition, budget and texture, you can choose your eye cream that suit you best.

There are certain eye care products work immediately at the moment you apply on it, it just looks like the eye cream is ironing your lines, smooth on them and restore back youth. However, this is a kind of fillers just to fill in lines to make it look smooth. After a few days, your skin will back to normal after wash.1)collagen stimulant, normalize kerotosis of skin
fruit acids (AHA, BHA), PHA (maltobionic acid, gluconolactone and lactobionic acid)

amino acid: L-carnosine,aminoguanidine,meglumine, arginine, methylsilanol hydroxyproline aspartate, alistin
Chanel Precision Ultra Correction Line Repair anti-wrinkle concentrate, Dr brandt anti-glycation serum

3) antioxidants (fight against free radicals) and humectants/nourishers (ease dryness)

Chantecaille Stress Repair Concentration (or nano gold energizing eye cream), Euoko eye contour nano life, Estee Lauder power correcting Patch, Revive Eye Renewal cream, Swiss Perfection Cellular Lifting eye gel, Olay Regenerist eye lifting serum
Applying eye care products with proper procedures is essential, the common mistakes are people apply too much product, rub into the eye too firmly or too close to eye. It will cause irritation easily. There is no benefit to rubbing the product directly into the orbital area, so just skip that mistake to abuse your eye. Follow the instructions to insure that you do a correct way.

Start with a small dot on a finger tip. You don't need a raisin sized amount. With small dot on a finger, wipe half of the dot onto another finger. Warm it with finger before applying on eye area, especially eye cream with thick texture, warming will soften it. If your hand is always cool (also symbolize your metabolism rate is slow), just cover the cream and warm with two fingers.

The next step is application. Dot little spots of cream on the bone area surrounding the eye. NOT inside the orbital area. Trust me, applying it to the bone area that surrounds your eye socket is close enough. What happens is that the eye gel WILL absorb into the skin and spread into the orbital area, so even though you aren’t touching that area with your finger, the benefits of the cream WILL spread to that area. If you rub the eye cream inside the orbital area, you’d increase the chances of getting product into the eye, or into the lash area, which will cause swelling and irritation, thus not only feeling horrible, but making your eye area look puffier.

Once you have applied the little dots (just like the picture below) around the bone area of both eyes, simply gently pat the dots until the product is absorbed. You don’t have to do any rubbing.. just a gentle pat of the product, so that it absorbs into the skin. If you feel like you need to rub, just be sure to rub AWAY from the eye area, and do it extremely gently.
